I took some time off from work to head up to Brooklyn , NY to spend time with my brother. We both enjoy hooking and wanted to see if we could become Brooklyn's Biggest Hooker. Well, I started off well with the First Fish of the Derby, and not a bad size at that (19.5" Striper). As the days went on during my visit, I began to lose ground to my brother's carnival of catches. The last day we were out he landed at least 5 stripers and a few other assorted fish. I was lucky to get a small striped bass, a black sea bass, a blue fish and a blue crab. I was feeling a little like a fish out of water... All in all, a really good time. Unfortunately for me the derby doesn't end until mid-November. I really hope my brother is able to hook some trophies and take home some prizes.
A side not to all of my recent hooking; I have been catching the majority of my fish by hooking them in the belly or anywhere but the mouth. I have been affectionately nicknamed "Belly Hook". Pictures will be posted as a reference.
Fish on friends!
