Through sparse gaps in the treetops above, the sky appeared sullen and grey in the rains aftermath. Light as it was, it was enough to drive Ciri and her mare into the forest for cover, forgoing the trail entirely as she much preferred the occasional dribble on her shoulder to soaked knickers. Though, in hindsight, this trade seemed a little ill-fated. Sure, she was dry, but she’d lost sight of the trail entirely. Breaks in the trees, far and few as they were offered her some amount of hope, though sadly, most proved false. Very little greeted her within them, with the exception of an odd rabbit or two. Perhaps that was why when something other than a rabbit came into view-- it almost startled the Witcher. A girl, petite with slender frame in a clean, dusty green frock. Her hair was tied back with care in a white bonnet, the occasional strand escaping its cotton prison. Judging by her dress, Ciri knew she couldn't have walked far without dirtying it further. A girl from the village, maybe? In stark contrast to her earlier mistake, all signs here seemed to bode well. Ciri was quick and eager to dismount her mare, pushing through the brush and greenery before stepping into the light of the clearing and joining the other in their efforts.
