Travel Cyprus 27 / Girne - Bellapais Manastırı:
Girne Beylerbeyi köyünde bulunan Bellapais Manastırı Beşparmak dağları kuzey eteklerinde 12. yüzyılda gotik mimari yapısında inşa edilir. Manastıra ilk yerleşenler 1187 yılında Kudüs' ten göç eden Augustinian mezhebi rahipleridir. 100 yıl sonra Lüzinyan kralı III. Hugh tarafından günümüzdeki yapının büyük bir kısmı yapılır. YAklaşık 50 yıl geçtikten sonra Lüzinyan kralı IV. Hugh zamanında revaklar ve yemekhane alanı tamamlanır.
1571 yılında Kıbrıs' ın Osmanlı imparatorluğu tarafından fethinden sonra manastır Kıbrıs Ortodoks kilisesine verilir. 1974 Kıbrıs Barış Harekatından sonra eski eserler ve müzeler dairesine devredilir.
