Top five "sirius no" moments. (feel free to godmod here :D )
My entire life is a âSirius, noâ moment, but here are a few memorable ones:
The two of us were sitting in the dorm room together last March, and somehow the topic of music came up and we were chatting about overplayed songs on the muggle radio weâd smuggled in earlier that year. And I mentioned how the song âYou Should Be Dancingâ by the Bee Gees ( which was about a month old at the time ) got stuck in my head all the time, and Sirius ( the git ) got this grin on his face, and I couldnât get out âSirius, noâ before he shot up and started dancing some strange disco moves and hollering the chorus.
I was walking to the courtyard during a free period when I saw Sirius at the end of the hallway looking suspicious. ( I mean, when is he not, but anyway -- ) He hollered something like âdonât scream,â which, obviously, made me scream âSirius, noâ just as he yelled âAccio Remusâs clothesâ without knowing whether or not the clothes would come with me, or without me. It took me with my clothes, but I hurtled down the corridor at top speed and smacked into him. Thatâs how we found a loophole around the whole âAccio doesnât work on living beingsâ rule.
One time some third-year Hufflepuff asked why all my mates call me âMoony,â and Sirius, who is simultaneously the most helpful and most annoying person on the planet, cut me off and said that itâs because I mooned all of them as a first year. I was grateful, but incredibly embarrassed, so it was a bit of a hollow sense of relief.Â
We were sitting together at the Great Hall, and it was March 10 ( you can already see where this is going ) and someone ( Mary, I think? ) said âHappy Birthday, Remus.â Then Sirius pulled this exaggeratedly surprised expression ( as if he didnât already know, the git ) and goes, âWhat? Moony? Itâs your birthday?!â And all I could do was hiss âSirius, noâ before he stood up on the bench in the middle of breakfast and started singing the Happy Birthday song at the top of his lungs as loud as he could. I wanted to die.
I was...twelve, I think? Sirius and I were âstudyingâ in the library together, and I was feeling a bit peaky, so I was coughing and sniffling and generally feeling miserable. Apparently, weak, tiny Gryffindors who wear secondhand robes are the perfect targets for sixth-year Slytherin jerks, because when I went up to get a book this girl tripped me and said...er...some rather uncouth, unpleasant things to me. And he just had The Look on his face, and I tried to yell âSirius, noâ from where my face was smushed into the library floor, but heâd already gotten up and hexed her face into a pig snout.
