if you can hear meÂ
sometimes you wonât really know
if you can see meÂ
there are just things that you have to let go
we grow in veinÂ
sometimes in pain
this mask that we wear
the other side not willing to shareÂ
you may hear or see
but who wouldâve thoughtÂ
you just never understood me.

"Itâs okay to be sad. You donât owe anyone a performance of being okay when you feel like youâre falling apart. It isnât your job to smile or hide your truth to make other people feel more comfortable. If it gets awkward, let it be awkward. If people try to silence your pain by telling you to get over it and cheer up because youâre no longer fun or youâre ruining the mood, you donât have to push away your sadness. You have to honor your feelings and trust that you donât need anyoneâs permission or approval to feel what you feel. You donât ever have to sacrifice your self care for the sake of people who only want you around when itâs easy and comfortable. Their discomfort isnât about you â itâs about them and their own limitations, and no matter what they think or say, you deserve to give yourself permission to feel whatever it is you feel. Youâre allowed to show your feelings honestly. Youâre allowed to talk about your pain and reach out for support. Youâre allowed to scream and wail and cry. Youâre allowed to be sad.â âDaniell Koepke
My time living on Parnell Street is slowly coming to an end. This little gem of a house has been my home for the past two years. There is lots of things I will miss this house for, the location, the fact that the spire is literally right outside my door. The whole of Dublin was right outside my front door. Everything was only a short walk away, no buses or taxis ever needed, unless youâre feeling particularly lazy. Our landlord was one of the soundest guys ever. Yeah he squeezed all of us into this house to make a pretty penny, but I wouldnât have had it any other way, plus he was always sound and fair to all of us. The people that have walked in and out of the doors of this house, the craic that was had, the after sessions (the well known Parnell after sesh) that would go on till 6 o'clock in the morning, the nights out - with everyone getting buses into Parnell since it was just a short walk to any of the nightclubs. The movie nights with everyone in the house, taking about 2 hours to decided anything decent that weâd all watch. Peters amazing cooking. The different days out. The teas and chats. Playing stop the bus as a form of procrastination when we should have all been studying. Parnell had everything, location, people and potential. We were the first ever group of people to live in this house, it was a building site before we moved in, but on our arrival on the 14th of September 2014, it was a brand new house, set up for us. The nerves moving in with strangers. But me and EirnĂn would have each other at the end of the day anyways. Little did we know that weâd meet the best people. The two girls, I know theyâre gonna be my life long friends after this. The five lads, more like the fifteen lads (between all the Carlow boys that come in and out of the house) would do anything for you to make sure you were alright, plus any spiders that needed to be killed, they were on the job lol. I will miss them dearly. And of course, this was the house where I met Rossa, if we both didnât move into Parnell we might not be going out. So much happened in those two years, it's crazy. No description will be enough to describe how amazing the time spent living in Parnell was, everyone who got to live here agrees. Or anyone who was apart of the house got to witness that. Now that the lads are all graduated and finished college, theyâre off trying to start there own lives, which is a scary thought.. So Parnell shall be no more. After this week, weâre done and dusted, our family shall be detached.. We had a goodbye family dinner during the week (minus Chen) the last supper of Parnell. I just hope wherever I end up living next year will be somewhat as good, there will never be a spot as good as Parnell. And you donât understand Parnell unless youâve lived here. There was a whole load of tears when we were all saying our goodbyes, I donât want to go knowing I wonât be back.
Plennon, Chen, Cmag, Roo, Sting, Clar, Milf and EirnĂn we're the best housemates ever, and by god if the walls in that house could talk, there'd be some stories told.
Stop crying. It's pathetic
