Being a bridal designer and a bride
Because I work with brides day in and day out, the element of surprise is down to a minumum. I have had the luxury of hearing the stories of my other brides, what's hard and what's not and most importantly, what to expect... it's good my fiance is supportive and likes to plan too!
As a designer, I know I want to incorporate couture techniques into my gowns (I am thinking of doing 3!) but I am highly aware that I need to create something that consoles my need for comfort and coolness.
I approached the gown construction and building from the inside framework then enhancing it with embellishment and decor which is how I also do bride fittings, basics first then the flourishes and icing.
