okay so something i really want to do this summer is put together a compilation of wlw folk songs (i’ll record them and post them on here individually and maybe put a playlist up somewhere)
i have a few ideas (basically all the ones i’ve sung so far can be adapted or they have female pronouns bc they were always sung by men) but if you have any favourites you’d like me to do let me know
like xmen was good but i think i’m running out of enthusiasm for things that aren’t expl i c i t ly queer

behindbucky replied to your post “hey someone quick, make up a superhero name?”
Madam Scorpion
Actually that kinda sounds like a slightly overdone villain name rather than a superhero... uhhhh okay my mind just volunteered cheese man...
hum maybe something along the lines of a plant? Like Nettle or Wallcreeper. (My mind is tired i'm so sorry I'm going to go now... :x )
I love those options for villain names actually! I might have just made up a villain just to call her Nettle (sounds kinda villain-y, no?). The superhero name is for a blockbuster title, so something a lot of people would go to the cinema to see... Not that I think people wouldn’t watch a movie called ‘Cheese Man’, that would probably do really well...
Hey I saw you went to go see Bakkhai (omg was it good?!?!!) and was wondering whether you waited Stage Door afterwards or whether you're aware of any policy/advice about doing that?? (I'm so excited about seeing it next week!!)
Hello there! I’m gonna do a longer review at some point, but short version is: I have mixed feelings about the play itself but the acting is fucking INCREDIBLE, some of the best I’ve ever seen. I’d go see it again in a heartbeat just to watch Ben Whishaw and Bertie Carvel stare each other down.Re: stage door – So this was my first time at the Almeida and I had no idea myself what I was doing, but I’m pretty certain there’s no actual stage door–- the actors just comes out of the main theatre doors along with the audience. When I went I didn’t see anything resembling a stage door queue. There were a ton of people just chilling in the lobby/in the bar area near the entrance, so I decided to buy myself a drink and hang out in the crowd outside. Not long after that (maybe fifteen minutes), Bertie Carvel came out with a few friends and was just sort of standing around. I went up to him and he very cheerfully signed my ticket for me. I didn’t wait around for Ben, but I know that fans at other performances have been able to meet him and take photos. So basically, my advice from my limited experience is to get a drink and keep your eye out for the actors. :) (If any seasoned Almeida-goers have better advice, please feel free to respond.) Hope you enjoy the show!!
