Deceptively heavy at times, this lofi indie rock band is way more than that description. The bendy guitar lines, stops for whisper soft parts, spoken work, etc⌠I could list a thousand more things I like about this band but that would impede on you pressing play now and listening to this killer release!

Beach Slang âHere, I Made This For Youâ
A collection of covers that only Beach Slang could record for an actual mixtape with their signature smooth, breathy vocal style and killer 90âs rock feel. Everything is super tight and  the recording is as good as it gets. Probably way to big for our blog as Spin magazine just named them as 39 of the top 50 best rock bands now! Way to put Philly on the map for having a killer music scene, dudes!

Behind Deadlines âBefore Summer Endsâ
Who says ska is dead? Well⌠pretty much everyone, but fuck it, this EP definitely will bring you back to the point where it was at itâs height. Regardless of genre revival, this EP has all of the right elements to keep a glass half full mentality with upbeat rhythms, awesome musicianship, a killer horn section and a tight as hell recording. Butterfly Bandage âthis winter b/w dance w/o moving (this is not a happy song)â
Electronic, bedroom project that is highly experimental with lots arpeggiated synthesizer samplings. Definitely, WAY lo-fi but has an honest feel that no big polished recording can capture.

Chainsaw To The Face / Hummingbird of Death âSplitâ
Under a minute long grind / power violence tracks that are nothing less than fucking amazing! Brutal is an adjective that doesnât accurately describe how heavy this split is. Pissed the fuck off? This should help take the edge off.

Friendship âYouâre Going To Have To Trust Meâ
Smooth and soothing alt country/folk/rock that has saddened vocals, slide guitar that adds to the emotion and overall great songwriting skills. The catchiness of their band is undeniable! Having seen them live, this is a really polished version of their set, but captures what their sound PERFECTLY!

Lushlife âPlateau Visionâ
Experimental hip hop that has a beautiful soundscape. If youâre head isnât nodding front to back something is definitely wrong, go to the doctor and get your head checked. Contemporary beats put to the styling of multiple guest appearances makes this album so diverse and completely out of control!

MâBalia âHalfway Thereâ
Jazz with soulful vocal work that is some of the best Philadelphia has to offer in a traditional sense. The music is skillfully arranged as well as a highly emotional state within the vocals. I might not be the authority on this genre of music, but the more I hear the more subtleties Iâm picking up that anyone can appreciate. For something completely different than what we usually cover, press play now!

Metroplex âEverything Is Chrome In The Futureâ
Alternative, Pop Punk that is reminiscent of the early 2000âs with a slight emo twist and raspy vocal work. The songwriting has all of the traditional pop punk twists and turns. For a nostalgic listen press play now!

Members of Rodent Lord, Shitlist, Point Breeze, Occult 45 form Narcos! This supergroup of locals come together to create some of the most brutal hardcore punk Iâve heard in a minute! If you were a fan of any of the listed bands there will be comfort in certain elements, but make no mistake this is a totally new sound for these guys and it totally SLAYS!

(noon) âLive 9/20 @ The Pharmacyâ
Experimental, shoegaze at itâs best. This live set at The Pharmacy shows off how lucid this band gets while capturing their raw performance. Extremely powerful for what I would consider a genre that doesnât get super exciting in the traditional sense. Easily one of my favorite live recordings of 2015.

Radiator Hospital âMartha Splitâ
Seriously upbeat indie rock tracks with truly unique vocal stylings. Itâs no wonder why these guys keep popping up on my radar, everything about this recording rules. They even throw in a 50âs feel on âDark Sound.â For just 3 songs, their side of the split completely kills it!
