Logistics of keeping another human fully confined aside, I really do love the fantasy of treating someone else as if im their zookeeper. Meticulously learning everything about them that I can. How much they can climb and up which surfaces, what environmental factors are most necessary in their enclosure to maximize wellness. Their input and affection being allowed and occasionally even rewarded, but never something that is of much concern to me. Finding proper enrichments to keep them both active and entertained. Learning what treats and toys really get them going when I have visitors and want them to show off.
Can you imagine what kind of person you could have after even six months like that? Solitary confinement, but with every other one of your needs met. Always being observed even when you can't see me. What novel behaviors would you start to display? How would your needs change as your world shrunk down to just this enclosure? Would you ever try and fight to escape? How many times being patiently drugged and returned to your habitat would it take for you to stop trying? Would you grow to love someone that sees you as nothing more than a research project?
