#beginning dnd

I've been playing more intensive dnd lately and I'm slowly familiarizing myself with the way the mechanics of the game work and I just realized that I was accidentally roleplaying well like my character has low Wisdom and high Charisma. And I hadn't really kept this in mind because I'm new to dnd and it was the second session of a new campaign and we didn't have easy access to our character sheets. And my character is persuading an NPC to do as the party tells her to protect her from some shady shit. I roll a nat20 on Persuasion and I'm doing a good job except then my character goes "and we'll do x for you! Won't that be great?!" Except what I'm offering to do for the NPC is something she finds terrifying and not at all reassuring and at this point things fall apart and while the NPC is convinced to cooperate my character doesn't do as smooth a job as she should have. And later, my character confronts her father because he is colluding with others to make the shady shit happen to the NPC (he isn't the Mastermind, but he is in on it) and her father suspects the party of messing around already and is on his guard but my character chooses to be dramatique and passive-aggressive instead of reading the situation and shutting the fuck up. And I later realized that my choices track pretty well with my character's stats and I love that.
