     “it’s safe to say that i am late,” zola announced, stepping into the hospital. being late on the first day as an intern was definitely not the way to start things off. especially not when you were trying to prove you deserved your spot and didn’t get it because of who your parents were. “are you an intern too?” she asked the first person she saw, hoping beyond hope that it didn’t turn out to be her reporting resident - that would be a horrible first impression.

     “what are you doing to my patient?” karev had made his way to the pediatrics wing, planning to check up on his patient who was still awaiting a transplant. “i don’t remember asking for another blood draw on him.”
