beetcarrot? in my 2025? it's more likely than you think (no freckles carrot under the cut)

"My arms are so sore," Beet complains, plopping down next to Carrot on the porch steps.

The setting sun paints the sky a beautiful gold, rose-bright tints shading the wispy clouds. A breeze ambles through, gently rustling the leaves of the giant maple outside their door.

Carrot chuckles softly. "Have some carrot-and-beet soup," she says, and before Beet can protest the bowl's placed in her palms. "Fresh and hot, just how you like it."

Beet smiles. It might be hard, working on the farm, but it's better than being alone. Sunsets are easier to appreciate with a partner like her.
