This post intended for ages 21+. Please drink responsibly. I love layers of flavor, which is why I love Taco Tuesday so much. And now I've found a beer with delicious complexity of flavor that tastes just right alongside tacos. Vicky Chamoy is unique spiced beer from Mexico's oldest beer brand, Victoria. This innovative beer is flavored with chamoy, which is a condiment made from pickled fruit. This beer is both sweet and sour, and has hints of chili that hit the palate in the aftertaste. I'd describe the taste as similar to a bloody mary, but with a tangy zing. The flavors of tamarind, chile, lime, apricot, and tomato come through with every sip. Yum! Vicky Chamoy is available in 24 ounce, ready to drink single cans. It does settle so I recommend gently rolling the can before you open it to mix it up. With the bar officially open while we are not quite free to FULLY roam uninhibited (masks and proof of vaccination and/or booster are mandatory in most businesses throughout the city of Los Angeles), tonight's elixir is this beer left at my place from a friend's travels for work: Full Pint Beer "T-Funk Sour Ale w/Tea & Blackberry" 4.5% ABV: Amber blueberry color, sour tart aroma, light body, acidic sour tart berry flavor, tart finish, and sour tart aftertaste. Paired with Sriracha mayo marinated chicken and green bell pepper stir fry over jasmine rice. Drank and dined while watching a couple of phenomenal NFL games streaming on @ParamountPlus.
