"This Time Will Not Be Like Last Time" He Lied
The scene you see below me here was written as my attempt at George Orwell's writing style for class. Enjoy!

Jacky and Lavra stumbled into Mia’s shop booth, the noises of the bustling bazaar outside become muffled and the stuffy reek of liquor and cannabis irritates Lavra’s rookie senses. Jacky evaluated a handful of the artifacts Mia has collected to sell: an old coat, a glass paperweight, a bag-full of miscellaneous bullet cases which would take an hour to sift through and find nothing, but Jacky kept his prying hands away from the wealth for the time being. Lavra focused her ear on the hushed squabble between two sellers across the cloth wall separating the booths, one calling for uprising, the other for downpricing, with no compromise in sight. A hushed cackle escaped her nose, no effort having been made to mask her amusement.
‘What do you want?’ said Mia, bluntly breaking the silence. She leaned over a chest barely locked and pierced Jacky’s pitiful attempt at a charming facade with her gaze. He raised his eyebrows and widened his grin. Jacky was a type of man that could never shake off the appearance of someone suspicious and scheming.
‘Mia, my szzweetness, I muzzzt confess that I am in trouble!’
‘And what is the purpose of me knowin’ of it?’
Jacky bowed to her, buzzing away, but he had a feeling that Mia did not feel generous that day. ‘I know you.’ Her eyes seemed to say. ‘I know you very well, and I know that you only come around to bring trouble.’ In a hopeless way Jacky had no chance at a loan from Mia this time around, so who was to blame him if he began to bend the truth?
‘You see, my szweet, you don’t understand! This time will not be like last time, and I will even pay you back double!’
‘Right.’
‘And I will say, my szzzweet Mia, that what you will aid me in is a noble cause! All ze money you loan me will go into my work! My employee here, good Lavra here, will work twizzze as fast on cleanin’ out those pezzzky cops’ records! Just you imagine, I will give you half! Just you imagine for how much those would go down here!’ Jacky said.
Mia scratched her chin and looked in thought to the side. The business could use a big pile of personal information. Records of names, addresses, social status, wealth, and health, all in one place for somebody’s misuse. The mafia would pay a pretty penny to Mia were Jacky’s stunt really truthful and successful.
‘To steal’s my profession, and I don’t work for free, you see. This liar here dragged me along, promisin’ me gold for my flawless service, and here we are now. The operation’s fate is in your hands, madam, but I will let you know that I’m damn-near the best in the town!’ Lavra added, untruthfully. Mia sighed at last; it was a worthy investment.
‘Something’s tellin’ me you’ve fooled me again, bastard.’ Mia headed to the back in search of her stash. Lavra and Jacky grimaced at each other. They were a good team.
