Beeduo Family Fluff
An excerpt from Second Chances Apply To Everyone, that I wanted to post on its own-- because Iâm so happy with it and itâs enjoyable even without context.
âTubbo~!â Ranboo called in a playful, sing-song voice, despite his nerves. âTubbo, where are you, I know youâre in here somewhere.â He paused, waiting for the inevitable. Sure enough, there was the faint sound of Michaelâs giggling, quickly followed by a similarly faint âNo Iâm not! Go away! Iâm busy!â Ranboo rolled his eyes with a huff, and followed the sound to Michaelâs room. Empty. Or so it seemed. Hmmmmmmmm. âHmmm,â Ranboo said out loud. âNobodyâs here. Thatâs strange.â He paced around the room, âlookingâ for them, muttering things like âhmm not under hereâ after picking up a solitary stuffed animal on the ground that they definitely could not hide under, deliberately keeping his head high and non-angled so he didnât accidentally see them. In reality, he could hear both Michael and Tubbo, trying to stifle their giggles, with the occasional whispered âShhh, heâll never find us under here, heâll never find us under hereâ from Tubbo to Michael.Â
âWell!â Ranboo declared, once he had âsearchedâ the âentiretyâ of the room. âMy husband and son arenât anywhere. I guess they really are gone. Hopefully nobody kidnapped them. I mean, I definitely canât eat all these candied golden carrots on my own.â Ranboo paused again, full grin on his face. âHeâs lying,â Came Tubboâs whispered voice, âHeâs a big fat liar. He absolutely could eat all of them.â There was a quiet sort of sniffle-snort from Michael, who then whispered âBut he wants to share!â A moment of silence passed, and Ranboo started tapping his foot in a dramatic âthinkingâ pose. He figured Tubbo had shaken his head ânoâ in that time-- âItâs totally a trap,â he heard Tubbo explain.
âWell, I guess Iâll just have to go to Uncle Tommyâs house on my own-- I know how much he loves candied golden carrots anyway. I bet he can help me eat all of them.â From under the bed came a noise of hooves scrambling against carpeted floor, and Michael shot out from underneath it. âWait Iâm here Iâm here! Youâre goin to Uncle Tommyâs? I want some golden carrots!â Ranboo grinned down at Michael. âMichael! Youâre here! Hello! Want to go to Uncle Tommyâs with me?â Ranboo bent over at the waist-- he was very bendy-- and tilted his head to look at Tubbo, who was also stowed away under the bed. âHello, Tubbo,â Ranboo crooned, and Tubbo just pouted at him. âYouâre a ba-- a big meanie,â He said grumpily as he wormed his way out from under the bed. Ranboo just laughed at him, knowing full well what he wanted to say but couldnât due to Michael being in range, and when Tubbo extended his arms, Ranboo slid him out until he was just laying face-down on the carpet.Â
Tubbo stood up and brushed himself off on his own, and Ranboo handed Michael a candied golden carrot with a sly grin, which Michael looked at it with wide, awe-struck eyes. âSince when are we going to Tommyâs house? I donât remember planning anything with him today,â Tubbo asked with a slight frown, confused. âI figured we could surprise him,â Ranboo explained. âYouâre suspicious,â Said Tubbo with narrowed eyes, and. Well. That was true, wasnât it? But Tubbo wouldnât not play along anyway. âSince when do you not want an excuse to visit Tommy?â Ranboo countered smugly, certain that Tubbo could sense that he was up to something anyway. But it didnât really matter, did it. Because Tubbo would go with him. âPlease can we go visit Uncle Tommy now? You said you were goin!â Michael asked, tugging on Tubboâs pantleg gently. Tubbo groaned. âItâs such a long walk,â He whined, but ultimately conceded.Â
