absolutely lives up to the hype i built up for myself, oberon and kon are such excellent characters, i love the third act twist with kon and his whole deal especially - really really excellent examination of both that power situation is, and the metaphor is so trenchant, it hits!! also the way you wrap up the stuff with oberon's family so succinctly with his conversation with his siblings + fior was so neat and effective. really masterful stuff!!

you get inklings of these little details that oberon doesnt notice throughout the story, with his siblings, with kon, etc, but theyre not so overt that you know what's coming up, which makes the reveals just sing when they come around, its so impressive to see

and the art is just beautiful! the colours, the designs (esp kon + obe's dream outfits and settings, AND the incidental background stuff), the layouts and panelling, just gorgeous. i am for sure gonna have to pick up a copy permanently now, ive just talked myself into it

this got long, so one last note - when obe wakes up in the first scene, his Pengis poster made me lose my shit. i love pengis. i love the pengis plushes, i love the pengis line stickers, i love the pengis parade float. i was pengis was real. shoutout pengis

I am also so so so glad you noticed all the Pengis easter eggs. I actually can't remember how visible they are in any panel of the comic, but Oberon also has a bunch of little figurines on his shelves:

I'm sorry they punished you like that but I'm glad it finally arrived and you enjoyed it. The ghost dust tag has existed as long as this blog has, but I'd guess that Oberon and Kon and elements of the universe have existed at least as far back as 2008?
