I’m so very grateful for all the love that is shared here. People are so open and nice and friendly. They are helpful and caring. They are just such amazing people. Especially the RP community is so awesome.

Where does this come from? Well... I recently joined a new fandom, a new community and discovered lots of things that are just so wrong. People sending each other anon hate over ships, people post hate speech in ship tags just to provoke a reaction, people insulting each other personally, people pretending that there is no difference between actor and character (meaning they ship the actors as well, invading their privacy...). And all of this drives me crazy. Instead of sharing gifs, aesthetics and other stuff you usually see in the tags, those tags are FULL of hate towards ships, tumblogs and just basically everything.

The Harry Potter fandom just accepts all the ships (as long as there is no pedophila, whatsoever,...). And even if there’s the Snily/Jily war and the Pro/Anti Snape war people are still mostly respectful. They don’t post hate just for fun or provocation, they don’t send each other anon hate on a regular basis. In the fandom I joined is so much homophobia while the Harry Potter fandom is just happy with everything. They ship gay, lesbian, and hetero couples and nobody cares and even if one person ships different characters than the others they still get along so well.

I’m so happy the Harry Potter fandom is like that. Because really? That fandom really kills everything for me. They are horrible. I just want to leave it again... It scares me how cruel people are to each other over ships.
