What is your favourite place to eat?

Probably Chipotle hahaha. Panera's a close second.

What do you think of your siblings?

I love them of course, but they have developed some really bad behavior and it makes it hard for me to enjoy their company. It's also hard to be close to them because they're a lot younger than me.

What was the best moment of your life?

I don't really think in terms of bests and worsts, mosts or leasts. I can say, however, that Summer 2011, Summer 2012, and this past school year have been the happiest times of my life.

What is the hardest thing you have ever had to do?

Fighting through and overcoming negative feelings I had about myself when I was younger and deciding to be my own best friend and to like myself.

Tell us a secret about yourself.

I present completely different parts of myself to different people I interact with. I'm much much more multifaceted than people think and I struggle to let out aspects of my personality that I want to.

What is your favourite wild animal?

Dolphins!

What is your favourite festival or celebration?

I've always loved Eid Al-Fitr, but I wouldn't say I've experienced any wonderful celebrations of it. Hopefully one day I can celebrate it in the Middle East. I've also always wanted to experience Holi and Diwali, even though I'm not Hindu.

Would you rather be an elf, dwarf, Hobbit, or wizard?

And ELF, or course!

What is your least favourite part of your personality?

I'm not a very affectionate person. I wish I was.. I wish I could comfort people and I wish I knew what to say to help. My first inclination is not to give a person a hug or anything else as basic as that and I act weird when someone tries to do that for me.

Most generous thing someone has done for you?

Honestly just listening to me.. genuinely listening. It's rare and only a few friends have done it.

What is your favourite beverage?

Snapple Peach Iced Tea (:

How do you handle people being rude to you?

I don't do much haha. My eyebrows'll lift and I'll give em a "are you serious dude?" face for sure, but I'm not confrontational in general. Might say something sarcastic if it comes to me in the moment but usually silence is the best response to a fool.

Would you ever want children?

OMG im so sorry :(

1: What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?

Went out and didn't come back until the next morning lol

2: Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I didn't make any.. I'm in a constant state of improving myself and I don't see why I have to make a goal for myself at the beginning of the year, when I could whenever the thought strikes me

3: Did anyone close to you give birth?

My aunt just gave birth this morning! But I'm not really close to her.

4: Did anyone close to you die?

No

5: What countries did you visit?

None this year! Just traveled within the States. But hopefully next year. (:

6: What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?

Some really meaningful relationships... (platonic) I just want to be around good company.

7: What dates from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

A lot of days from summer because it was fantastic, Christmas Eve because our "Eid" gift exchange was at my house and Kaylee came and that really made it so enjoyable, and Christmas Day because I went to Kaylee's house and it was a very pleasant/ hilarious time (: Rather than me sitting at home doing nothing haha

8: What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Becoming a semi-finalist for studying Arabic abroad next year

9: What was your biggest failure?

Getting the absolute worst grade in my life

10: Did you suffer illness or injury?

Not physically

11: What was the best thing you bought?

Probably my copy of Ender's Game at the Barnes & Noble in Flagstaff, AZ.

12: Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Pretty much just Kaylee and Jennifer (: haha

13: Whose behaviour made you appalled?

Too many people.. just way too many.

14: Where did most of your money go?

Food hahaha, unfortunately

Well I was in a fantastic mood pretty much all summer long... and I was very excited when I found out I was a semi-finalist, like I said earlier (:

17: Compared to this time last year, are you: (a) happier or sadder? (b) thinner or fatter? (c) richer or poorer?

Happier, but only because I've come to terms with a lot of things. There are some amazing things that stand out to me in my life now, but I'm still not happy per se. Haha I think I am fatter actually! Well I guess not noticeable, but I did gain a few pounds (which is a good thing). I am richer haha, but just a little.

18: What do you wish you’d done more of?

Umm my homework at the end of Junior year.

19: What do you wish you’d done less of?

To be completely honest, Tumblr. It's the single worst thing to happen to my academic career. And I think the unhappier you are with the world or life, the more you use it.. so it really is a terrible thing sometimes.

20: How did you spend Christmas?

Went to my best friends' house and played fun trivia-like games! It was fantastic

21: Did you fall in love in 2012?

Hahaha no. I'm not sure if I'm capable of that..

22: What was your favourite TV program?

The Office, Psych, and Legend of Korra, although I only watched online.

23: Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

No I just dislike some people now, or actually just their actions.

29: What one thing made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Some true friendship. Some continues today and some does not, but it feels great when it's there.

30: How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2012?

It requires some background information.

So my good friend, Kaylee, got asked to Prom in Spanish yesterday! It was really cute and she was sooo happy. Along with that, the guy gave her a pet Beta fish! She was soo stoked and she loved it so much. I could really tell how happy she was, and I was extremely happy for her! We went to Physics together after. So at the beginning of class she had to go to the bathroom. So good-naturedly I told her “I’ll fish-sit for you!”. You know just in a friendly way. I wasn’t actually going to go over to her desk and watch it. I was just gonna keep an eye on it from my desk, which is across the room.

The second she leaves.. the second she leaves… I look over at her desk and A GUY BUMPS INTO HER DESK. THE FISH GOT NUDGED TO THE EDGE OF HER DESK! THE EDGE OF HER MOTHERFUCKING DESK! IT WAS ALMOST HALF WAY OVER THE EDGE OKAY. I stood up and screamed, “THE FISH! THE FISSSSSSSHHHHH! OH MY GOD THE FISSSSSHHHH THE FISH!!!!” and Mr. Dwyer’s face was shocked. I even almost jumped over the desk in front of me. Finally the guy saw what I was pointing at and scooted the fish back over! But everyone was staring at me and most didn’t know what was going on. They weren’t even aware that Kaylee had brought a fish in, so they must have thought I had officially gone crazy! I mean I was screaming about a fish at the top of my lungs!!! And I’m pretty sure I scared the guy and the whole class. I’ve never had an outburst like that ever.

I got so worked up over it. I think that’s what a heart attack feels like. I felt my face get all red. It took me a good 20 minutes to calm down. It was really one of the most horrifying experiences of my life. In that second, I really thought he was going to fall. What would I have done then? She would have returned to her fish and water all over the floor…. I almost cried. I really would have cried. How could I let that happen? She had just gotten it a half an hour earlier and she loved it so much. I am soooo happy and relieved that he didn't fall.
