It wasnβt an ache. It didnβt truly hurt. It wasnβt like cutting your finger or falling on your knees. It wasnβt that kind of pain. It was a void, a void right in the center of her chest and growing further and further to down to her stomach. It took over her throat and made it hard to speak, it took over her lungs and made it hard to breathe. Her feet moved at their own accord, her eyes looking forward but not truly taking in the images that passed by. Her ears registered nothing but buzzing, buzzing and the sound of a familiar voice, a voice she loved, which was now playing on repeat. Go, he had said first, his voice rising with every word until she had no choice but to back towards the door. She had never seen him like that, never seen that look in his eyes. Maybe he was truly being changed by that godforsaken place.
Β Β β B ? B, open up. β
Her own words brought her out of her trance. Somehow she had reached her safe haven, somehow her body had decided this was the place where she was supposed to be. It was right. Two more knocks and she was leaning her weight on the door. Had the world been spinning all long? Why was she taking so long? Please, let her be there, let her be home.
Β Β β B...please. β
