        a part of him couldn’t believe someone as seemingly simple as abernathy could have been on grindelwald’s side.    if the man ever came near him again,  graves would find out how much he knew and for how long he knew about it.    abernathy was strict in his own way,  seemed to have simple pleasures,  and was one of the more annoying men he’d ever met...    maybe he’d hit him properly as well.    but ever since that betrayal was uncovered,  graves was working overtime to weed out the rest of the aurors and other employees,  those that didn’t disappear to assist grindelwald with whatever he was planning.    he looked up from some of the files as the door opened,  eyeing the man for a moment before turning his gaze back down.    “    you must be newt scamader.    ”    a man the impostor had met,  yet one he only knew through the older brother.

—It’s sudden. Spontaneous. She kisses first. During a game of hide and seek through the labyrinth of trees and berry bushes. He’s hiding behind a particularly large one. The bark rough against his fingers. There is no crunch of leaves under her feet (it always felt as if she was floating) so when she stand before him, having taken advantage of him looking over his shoulder, he’s startled!

he laughs and she looks at him and her mouth parts. She wants to say something which isn’t all that uncommon since she always had something to say. But this particular something is made up of a particular string of words in a particular sequence of order.

And the particularity of it all, and his laugh, and his smile, and how close they are and how the light shines upon him — swells her tongue.

And he sees it. This change and leans down to check up on her and that’s when her mouth touches him. Chaste. Sweet. And she only kisses him for a heartbeat before she begins to apologize as if that would erase the action.
