WRIF 101 FM, The Dismissal Of Detroit Radio ICONS π Yes it was hard to Keep quiet when I was informed the possibility of Scott being let go of WRIF for almost two weeks, I tried to stay positive that they would not do such a thing especially during this time. He was a positive voice for WRIF letting people of Detroit know everything was going to be ok during this time and people counted on his positivity and his voice over the years he was and IS one of the known personalities that made WRIF the station it is today and kept it alive with active listeners. Many people only listened to 101 WRIF because of voices like Ann Carlini, Screaming Scott and Melt Down even Chuck Bean is part time now. For 20 years I listened to WRIF because of Scott. Scott was also a Bridge for WRIFβs connection to the community with amazing Charity appearances and made WRIF LOOK as though it was part of the community more than just a radio station with invisible voices, he put a face of Generosity and Kindness to a station that seemed cold and corporate.
