Seconding the xkit blacklist on their name as one option. The “mute” feature for a user’s posts may also work, iirc. Tumblr’s block is essentially a symbolic gesture and doesn’t really do much except block direct interaction between two parties. Good luck, dude!

god, seriously. the fact that chapter 50 was the last chapter that was anywhere near decent makes a pretty good "it's been [x] months since i've cared about the plot" benchmark.
none of the other arcs were this painfully slow about moving, either -- they started AND wrapped up neatly in ten chapters or less. utgard arc was over in around 8, reiner and bert's spontaneous roadtrip in 10 (counting eren's battle against reiner at the walls AND the battle for getting eren back AND escaping). this arc's been going on for 10 chapters and counting, and has made next to no progress in advancing the story it presented. most of the chapters have consisted of characters talking at each other, spouting exposition about political bullshit that isayama REALLY clearly has no idea how to write. it's freaking pathetic.

i used to leave comments to the editor in my adaptations, which usually were me making fun of the dumb characters in the series i did (lights out). apparently one volume had a handful of books accidentally printed with my comments in them, lol oops

i have no idea how the novels worked, but i know a few typos i KNOW i didn't make wound up in the books I did, despite there being two editing rounds after I touched the script (and I got raw translations and original manga to look at to work from)
i definitely don't blame the translators for everything regarding the quality of the 12k books -- like, the misprints and shit print quality are obviously beyond their control. the whole official 12k translation was just a disaster from start to finish. there's an online fan translator (eugene woodbury) who's basically done the entire series at this point, completely free of charge, so the point's sort of moot, but...

haha i used to work for tokyopop but i didn't work on those novels (i did do english adaptations of some other stuff, though)
the 12k novels really clearly did not go through quality control, especially after book 2's release -- typos everywhere, whole missing chapters and upside-down misprints, shit paper quality, no romanizations of any terms ever stayed spelled consistently. it's kind of unfortunate, as the main translator was alexander o. smith, who really did a fantastic job with the ffxii translation...but, he clearly was only comfortable with western fantasy, and replaced all the ancient chinese and series-specific terms with preexisting western fantasy equivalents. (like. seriously, what was he even thinking.) no excusing his apparent inability to stick with one spelling of a romanization, though.
