Getting a Beard trim.....PROFESSIONALLY!
Today may be 1st December but today I needed to tame the beard. Instead of doing this myself, I thought that I would get it done professionally! Yes you heard it hear first. I got my beard professionally trim! MY MY MY..... now this was something totally different to what I was use to, especially as it has only ever been me that has been looking after my facial foliage.
So what can I say about this new experience, well it was liberating! Think of it has just having your haircut but for your face. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Walked in to the barbers, told them I wanted my beard neatened and tidy whilst still keeping the length. After all I had been putting a shed load of effort into growing this beast!
After telling the barber what I wanted, I sat down and mentally prepared myself for this new stage in my life. Was offered a drink but declined as I didn't fancy getting beard hair in my drink and didn't want to stop a master at work. So he began to trim the facial hair I had been growing all this time. What I had noticed was that he took his time with it making sure he was getting any of the stray hairs. This was a guy who obviously perfected this art form of hair cutting. It must have been a good 10 minutes he was cutting the beard and then got a hot towel. I was thinking, hot towel! What's he going to do with that. What commenced soon after was well relaxing. The hot towel was laid over my face and beard, leaving a small hole for me to breath. For all you guys out there needing a trim, I'd say the hot towel is the best part! The towel was on for a few minutes and then taken off. I could feel the benefits instantly, as it felt like my face was rejuvenated. After this he then began to perfect the beard by using a cut throat razor to get rid of any strays. I would highly recommend this too, it just feels like a close shave better than any Gillette razor. To finish off the trim he applied on the beard oil and massaged it into the beard to finish off a great beard experience.
As this was my first beard trim, I need to promote these guys. It is a art form and it takes a certain skill to be able to cut hair regardless it being a beard or hair on the top of your head. If any of you out there that read this, live in the London, specifically in the Dulwich area check out their website The Groom Room also they have a twitter account, be sure to follow them @thegroomroom1
For those days where you need that professional touch in sprucing up your beard, I'd recommend you guys go out there and get them to trim those stray hairs!

The Bearded Fellow
You see him around, sat on the train reading a book, sipping on a fresh brewed coffee at the window side table, he rides past you on his bicycle effortlessly, he's at the park playing with his young one and walks out the barbers feeling fresh after having his hair cut.
Many of us do these activities and sometimes feel it is a bit of a chore but it is the bearded guy that makes it seem as though they don't mind doing it. Whether it is on their own or with other people.
It takes a certain someone to grow a beard and a certain mindset to maintain it. Whether you are at the first stage of growing a beard or maintaining a full grown facial feature. Remember patience is key. That is why when you see the bearded fellow he will have this cool calm exterior due to the time and effort he takes in looking after his facial hair. Living by this routine carries through into his everyday living. Taking that extra bit of time sets you off for the day ahead.
Sexton believes that patience is key, never rush and always take your time.
Beards are amazing and they make everything better. Goodnight.
Someone needs to invent a beard emoji. It's a must.
