Another Wyll/Halsin fic I'll likely never write is a soft conversational one, specifically regarding Wyll asking Halsin to tell him about his mother (whom he would have known had passed by then) - what she was like, what he remembers of her (because it's been a very long time), and...listening quietly, keeping his eyes carefully averted as he examines Halsin's hand, because he's started trying to access how he feels about his own loss having known only what was told to him regarding his mother. Almost like he can live vicariously through Halsin's, access even just a fraction of that feeling, even if it's just beyond his grasp.
And Halsin, catching on because he's no stranger to the subject - to grief in general - asks Wyll in turn what he was told of his mother - what he knew and what he wished he knew. And they have a conversation about that and how Wyll's propensity for approaching the subject neutrally, or struggling with how he feels about it (or whether he feels about it at all, and if he has any guilt regarding that) is actually perfectly natural, and not an easy thing to come to terms with.
