#bear event

...or does anyone else feel, I don't know, uncomfortable seeing Orlando Bear Bash advertise their event on Tumblr on reblogged pornographic photos.

My view on bear events may not be the same as many others in the community. I don't see it as a quick way to get laid or rub up on hot men. Yes, it's a plus, and in any community, if you put a large group of people in the same place with the same sexual interests (especially a male, masculine community like the bears are), the "sluttiness" factor will rise. However, I don't see this as the SOLE reason  to go to any event, or even should be a reason in the first place. If you go to an event just to get laid, and even if you do, you will leave disappointed. If you go to see friends, party, and enjoy the community, you will have a blast, and if you end up getting laid too, BONUS!!

This is the problem I have with Orlando Bear Bash's choice to advertise on hot pics of bears and bear sex here on Tumblr. On the plus side, they are reaching a LOT of people on here. On the downside, and this is my opinion, I think it's giving the wrong idea of the event, giving the view that the event is one giant orgy. Now, I've never been to OBB, so if it is a giant sex-filled orgy, fine then. My point is that it may give the wrong idea of what the event is all about.

I love the bear community because of the sense of community that it gives. It has become my home and I will do anything to support it and help it grow. I just hate to see it become known as just a big fuck fest.

5. The Food - Seriously, it's a bear event. An enormous amount of good food for a cheap price? YES PLEASE.

4. Wine Tour - I am not a wine person, however this was the most fun I've had. I think I like wine more now :)

3. The Water Park - The highlight of DF8 is the indoor water park trip after hours. An entire water park with wave pool, hot tubs, and awesome slides closed to the public for just us. So much fun.

2. Wet, Half-Naked Bears - Hotness all around!!!! Nuff said.
