Tom and Sal (in the sane AU) are like,,, best buds. Sal's a little older than her cousin(? I think they're cousins), maybe like by 3 years or so, but they still get along swimmingly. they're both very sweet, kind, and compassionate kids. Tom grows up to become a linguistics professor and Sal becomes an activist (because Benny and I find the idea of her being super politically aware when she has JACK and DEW, who regularly say slurs, for parents, Dew "I can't be racist I'm Asian" Ito and Jack "I believe 9/11 was an inside job" Lè)
also? Polilla and Sal are like. the same Genre of person. Edgar Jr (Nathan's kid who transitioned and named himself after his uncle, they were very close while Eddie was alive) maybe too. I think it's because they all have mentally ill trans parent figures and are trans themselves. I think they'd get along
