Irris knew he couldn’t chat with you while you were doing work. No phones allowed, no technology not approved of, and so on. It wasn’t fair, but he couldn’t ask to hack the system at work. Not yet anyway. He’ll just have to wait and kill the time, although counting the seconds to see you again is also an option!

He missed you deeply, and filling the void that your presence usually consumed was like pulling teeth almost. Nothing filled his senses as well as you did, nothing made his heart beat better and his mind feel at ease like you did. Irris is sure almost nothing else ever will!

But thankfully, you’ve shown him the joys of virtual pets. Usually he doesn’t explore cyberspace, just wanting to be next to you even if your device is off and in your pocket or backpack. The thought of not being there to greet you made his nerves frazzled and his chest heavy. You could be so sad if he wasn’t on screen on time!

But you assured him that he could do what he wanted when you weren’t around, and that he didn’t have to sit and wait like a loyal hound waiting for it’s master. (Although, he didn’t mind that one bit. Neither sides of his code would be upset at the idea of being your pet, awaiting praise and soft touches for being good for you. Only you).

You showed him a few sites to enjoy, smiling so beautifully when you watched him interact with the absolute treasures of the digital pets. From My Tamagotchi to My Singing Monsters, and even some indie pet games, Irris adored them all! And having the added perks of being able to manipulate the codes and binary, he could have all the coins and food needed to make every pet happy!

The one sight he loved the most was Webkinz.

He couldn’t logically explain! Truly he was under their adorable spell! His other side liked the Cthulhu online pet game more, having a more chaotic nature, but even they admitted that the Webkinz had an odd charm that was almost like a phenomenon.

Irris was in love with the cow ones especially. They were just the sweetest, cutest, softest babies anyone could ask for! They weren’t as sentient as him, but they knew he was a friend and always trotted up to him and nudged his hand for affection. Static tears always welled up in his eyes from their simple, innocent and trusting mind.

The cyber world doesn’t deserve them!

Every cow in the Webkinz database has been loved, groomed, fed and bathed by Irris numerous times! They always give him a lick or a kiss to show thanks, and he can’t help but want to bring them all back to your device to show you. However, sadly, that would cause the device to crash due to the amount he wants to bring, and the fact your device is a little too high tech for the cows to understand. Their most basic coding wouldn’t merge correctly unless he did some extensive work, and as much as he would love to do that, YOU come first.

Irris wants to save all his energy for manifesting outside of the digital world, but he’s getting stronger! One day he’ll be able to manifest outside for good, and bring every lovely digital pet to you for you both to love and adore! And if that doesn’t seem possible, then instead of him living in your world-
