Coming from MI and moving to CA, WA and a few other places, then settling in RI, the beach access signs, extremely expensive parking prices in RI, MA, and CT, and the elitism invested in maintaining private areas along the water has enraged and confused me for nearly 2 years now.Â
But this article told me everything was doing its job, my observations were accurate, and that RI has similar laws to MI that maintain an open shoreline for people to relax and enjoy and maintain. COVID-19 is definitely reminding me how important it is to know laws and see where people are benefiting from the struggle of others. It’s frustrating to see, but important to recognize.
