Not by giving them the wrong commands durring combat, not by providing them with insufficient training and conditioning.

Just by going too far.

A hound comes back from a deployment that didn't go how the handler would have liked, dont get the wrong idea, the mission was a success, but the specifics of it just means that she has to deal with even more fucking paperwork.

Another annoyance for an already tightly wound handler. Luckily for her, the dog is back, and what better way to relieve some stress than by taking it all out on the pathetic tool that causes them so much damn trouble.

The hound is ordered into the handlers quarters.

The moment the door closes behind them it's obvious they already know whats coming. The hound's barely suppressed shaking is especially irritating to the handler who can never be quite sure if the poor mutt is shaking from fear, or excitement.

Its not something she cares to figure out. These private moments in the handlers quarters aren't for the hound. Its all for handlers amusement.

The hound doesn't dare speak, doesn't dare even look her in the eyes. They just wait, and brace.

When the first hit comes it's straight to the stomach, sending the dog falling to the ground.

On its hands and knees, the second hit is a kick to the ribs. Sending the hound across the floor.

The mutt is panting like a bitch in heat, its unclear if it's because it's having the rush of a life time, or if its because it's just gotten the wind knocked out of it.

The third strike, a sharp stomp to the chest, handler grinding the heel of her boot into the hound.

What happens after a handler kills their hound?

Does the handler grieve? Do they feel anything?

Are they punished for their actions? Or is the death of a hound so inconsequential that they are simply given a new one to someday break?
