Writer signups for the Skam Big Bang 2023 have closed but it’s not too late to join. Signups are still open for betas and artists. If art isn’t your thing, consider being a beta for a writer, giving them an extra set of eyes on their work.

Betas read fic drafts and their help ranges from SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) to offering story feedback. We try to match writers and betas based on Skamverses and interests. Some writers only want help with what we call SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) while others want more help with brainstorming etc. we can absolutely match you with someone just looking for a second set of eyes on their fic to catch those stupid errors if you decide that’s what you’d like. We match betas after our writers first check-in, and connect you both. We try to offer some structure too to help facilitate a great experience. Writers will share their drafts and you as a beta would suggest edits within a reasonable time. Some offer the entire draft, others work chapter by chapter. Writers will use typically Google docs or word. It’s really fun to see a work come to life. I started as a beta two bangs ago and was hooked!
