Attina had met Sally in passing a few times--at Swynlake events, on the streets when she was out with Panic. She knew that Sally and Panic (and Percy? unclear but she thought--maybe) were friends. Objectively, she knew this, but she tried not to think about it too much.Â
Because, well--she knew guys and girls could be friends. Objectively. She knew that. She was friends with Simba! (Even though they’d “dated” when they were five and she’d definitely had a crush on him in their teenage years...) Nala was friends with Simba! Also, Attina had James, who--really, she’d never been into. He’d always been the closest thing to a brother to her.Â
Anyway--she was jealous, point blank. Because Attina was a jealous, flawed person by nature and Sally was sweet and gorgeous and she had really long legs. Like really long legs. And she was so pretty--how was she ever supposed to compare? She felt so frumpy next to her.Â
But! Sally was a part of Panic’s (and Percy’s) life! And that meant she was going to be a part of Attina’s, because Panic and Attina were in it for the long haul now. Attina felt like she could breathe. She felt comfortable. Which meant--she needed to make an effort to feel comfortable with Sally too. So, when she’d found out it was Sally’s birthday, she’d texted her and asked if she wanted to grab lunch at Hatter’s.
Leaving Andy and Rob in charge of the shoppe, Attina skipped across the street and down to Hatter’s, seeing Sally outside--tall and leggy and gorgeous (ugh.)
“Hi Sally!” Attina chirped as she approached, none of the trepidation or jealousy showing. It wasn’t a lot anyway--mostly had to do with her own insecurities. “I thought it’d be nice to eat at Hatter’s. I know it’s like--so typical but Hatter always has delicious two-for-one pies in the autumn!”Â

Simba hadn’t seen Sally since she’d gotten back from her trip. This was mostly because Simba barely had time to breathe. First, planning his wedding, directing the play, working at the day care, doing his volunteer hours--and then his fiance had had to go and get himself kidnapped and in the ensuing chaos of their wedding planner being the kidnapper:Â
The wedding was cancelled.Â
Well, it was postponed, but it felt like it was canceled. Like he wasn’t ever gonna get married. Which, y’know, bloody sucked.Â
He was trying not to think about it, which wasn’t very hard when you were trying to walk three dogs who all had their very own paces and ways of walking that did not exactly agree with each other (aka--Simone tugging ahead on her leash and Turtle plodding behind taking his good, old, sweet time.)Â
When he showed up at the park, Sally was already there. Leaning down, he unhooked Simone’s leash so that she could barrel ahead towards Salene. He unhooked Bowie when he got closer to the bench, but left Turtle on his leash, mostly because the old man wasn’t as interested in playing, instead sitting down in front of Sally and Simba and wagging his tail, tongue lolling.
“Hey Salls, what’s up? How are you? Got any big plans for your birthday? I know it’s comin’ up soon.”Â
The first, of course, was the Ambassador. His power rippled through limbo whenever he decided to deigned it with his presence. It was not very often that he did so, at least, not before. Now it was an almost constant pulse that Artemis could feel every time she tuned in herself.Â
There had been a presence she had sensed before, however. A gentler type of power. Nothing near Hades’, or even Artemis’. She had two theories as to the reason for this:
Someone who wasn’t very powerful. Mediums came in several--flavors, if you will. Some stronger than others. This powerful was sweet as honey, not as all-consuming as Hades’ sage, or Artemis’, which was more like Oregano.Â
The other theory was: someone new.
That made Artemis a bit giddy. She quite liked other mediums. There was no one who really understood what it was like. Not even her brother--though his powers were similar weren’t they? He heard the thoughts of the living, she heard the thoughts of the dead. Two sides of the same coin. It was not the same. And, so, she was eager to meet this other medium.
Artemis did not seek her out. No, that wouldn’t do. She waited until the woman was walking in the woods. The ghosts whispered of her presence, and with Niobe’s sharp nose and Artemis’ keen sense of direction, they found her swiftly.
“Hello,” Artemis said as she stepped out of the trees a little ways ahead. Her hair was wild about her face, her feet were bare. “Who is that you’ve been talking to? I thought I was the only one with imaginary friends.”
Her dark eyes twinkled a bit as she turned her attention to the ghost at the medium’s side.
Summary: In where the ladies have reached The Paths and Raksha soon discovers that this is her piece of the journey before them.
Trigger Warnings: Death, blood, corpses (mangled corpses), fire, and grief
Additional Information: I’ll be switching point of views depending on who’s piece belongs to which lady in the journey so this post is on Raksha’s because this is her part of the journey. If that makes any sense....? Hopefully looool. Plus, this is long like very long!!! Hahaha I hate myself. I can never make things short xD
The steps were crumbling beneath Raksha’s feet, thin in width and almost appearing endless in route. It was as if all four women were going down, and down, and down with no final destination to be reached. They were all becoming unsteadier the further they went down, the steps themselves appearing smaller and smaller in size.Â
Raksha feared that soon there will be no steps left to take and if they were to take an unprecedented fall.... Raksha knew that could severely harm her unborn child. She was aware that this entire trip down to the Underworld was a severe risk to the child growing inside of her, but Raksha had no alternative.
Rahil had been taken away from her, and it was a lost she has not been able to heal from. This was her chance at a closure she knew was needed. Without it, how will she be a good mother to her child? It wasn’t fair... this child deserved a chance at a loving mother and Raksha had to fight to offer him or her just that.Â
At last, all four women reached the bottom, their feet landing on forest soil. Surrounding Raksha were lines of trees all barren, all silent, and motionless. Their branches casted shadows on the ground snaking one within the other ending in pointed jagged edges. It was in that moment that Raksha felt a frigid layer of cold sweep over her skin and that was an unlikely feeling for her as her wolf was a warm creature always isolating her in heat. This cold, however, penetrated deeper crawled itself inside of her setting her wolf on edge.
Raksha rolled her neck, soothing the beast so that she’d be able to set her focus on what mattered: the road ahead of her. They all continued walking settling in deeper within the forest. The deeper they got the lesser light became available as now only glimpses of such a thing spilled through the thick twining of branches all in hues of blue.Â
They all came to a sudden stop as before them the forest had split into a series of different paths. One path was of sand, another of charred ash, fragmented glass, forest soil, wooden paneled tiles, cobbled stone and the last one covered in a pure white snow.Â
“We’ve reached the paths.” It was the redheaded woman that broke the silence. “We choose the wrong one and we will all be lost forever.”
Violet looked at the ginger with a slight confusion in her eyes. “How... how do you know this?”Â
“I have a dead friend who just told me.” All the other ladies looked at Sally with shock and a mixture of disbelief coating their eyes. “I can see dead people.” Was all she replied to their looks. It was Raksha’s turn to speak now.
“Well, will this dead friend of yours be telling us which path is the correct one to take?”Â
In return Sally placed a smile on her lips turning to face the older woman. “Funny how it’s you who’s asking because you’ll be the one choosing the path for us.”
“Excuse me?”
“Yes.” Sally spoke simply with knowing eyes staring back at Raksha. “You’ll be the one to choose our path. Your destination is our next step, where you are meant to go is where we all must past through first. This is your piece, Raksha. You’re the start of our journey, therefore you have to choose.”
Your piece? Your destination....? You are the start of the journey? This woman was speaking in riddles and that irritated Raksha, nevertheless she took a step forward. How.... how was she suppose to choose?! There were seven paths splayed out before her. How was she suppose to know which one wasn’t the one that would doom them all into an eternity they couldn’t come back from? She turned back around to face this allusive redhead of a woman. She wanted to growl deadly at her, threaten her even if she must to get her to speak what she knew, but to her surprise all three women were no longer there.Â
Instead, the barren forest that was once lifeless around Raksha was now lit up in stark vivid flames of fiery red. The fire was viciously devouring the foliage, branches falling like rain dried in black shriveled ash. Smoke began to cover the skies in thick heavy fumes and Raksha could hear a noise that made her heart sink, and her body lose all ability in moving.Â
It was the howls of those she loved, the shrieking cries of brutal slaughter befalling her pack. Each howl pierced sharper and deadlier than the one before, each one causing her wolf to mourn in deep despair. The beast clawed desperately inside of her crying and begging for release. The howls were becoming louder now mixing with the sound of haunting screams. Raksha....Raksha didn’t know what to do!Â
The howls and the screams were filling her ear dreams each separate one a stab to her heart. The fire grew brighter, bigger, hungrier. It was spreading like a wild monster moving closer and closer to Raksha the thickness of the smoke blurring her vision and clotting her lungs. Â She took a step back to try and move away from it all. Her mind felt heavily scattered and broken from the despair of the deathly howls and screams, her feet stepping into something wet.
....wet? It was thick as the liquid soaked up her feet within the sandals. Raksha looked down her eyes growing wide in fear. She was in the midst of a large pool of blood. The thick crimson red liquid had now covered the entire forest ground the smell pungent against the sensitivity of her nostrils. Even in the midst of the raging fire and the thickened blur of the smoke Raksha could start seeing the formation of bodies appearing on the blood covered ground.Â
Raksha immediately stepped back again, tripping over a body that had formed behind her. She fell to the ground her robe covered in the heavy crimson substance, knees scrapping against the dirt and her body now over the lifeless corpse of Kavya, Akela’s mate. A piercing screamed escaped Raksha’s throat, tears now steadily streaming from her eyes. She desperately moved away crawling right into another body, the corpse of her dearest best friend, the one in whom Rahil had slept over their house the very night of the massacre. She was covered in burning scars, bullet holes decorating her body. Raksha covered her mouth with shaky hands. She couldn’t breath—she couldn’t breathe.Â
But... another body began to form against the mass hysteria of the fire and the smoke and Raksha she-she knew who’s it was. It was a smaller body, one of a boy with unruly dark hair mixed in thick blood. His body was mangled and pale, legs and arms dislocated. The corpse was filled with merciless stabbed wounds and penetrating bullet holes. Raksha slowly crawled over to the body uncaring of the pool of blood she needed to move through, the fire, the smoke....
It was Rahil, and suddenly Raksha couldn’t take the unrelenting grief that raked and shook her entire body. She cried tears and tears and unending tears that were wrenched straight from out of her heart. She pulled the dead corpse to her chest holding it in a desperate embrace as her head buried itself in her son’s body.
“I—I c-can’t do this! T-this-this s-should have never been you Rahil. I-it should’ve been me! I-I’m sorry. I-I am so, so sorry.” She wept agony filled tears. Raksha didn’t want to move on, she couldn’t do this... she-she couldn’t do this. Not-not this. A voice suddenly penetrated the air, soft and young in a whisper that only breathed against Raksha’s ears.
That’s not me maan. I’m okay now, maan. It’s okay. I’m at peace now, I promise. It’s okay.Â
“R-Rah-hil?” Raksha’s head shifted away from the corpse within her arms her eyes trying to find a figure within the thickened blur in front of her, but she couldn’t see anyone. All she could hear was the clear sound of her son’s voice.
You can do this, maan. You’re so close. That isn’t me. Let him go. Let him go for me and my baby sister. You know which way to go, maan. You can do this.Â
You do know, maan. You already know. Let him go. You know maan.
Reluctantly, with a heavy heart, Raksha listened to the voice of her son allowing the corpse to drop from her arms. In that instant, the corpses had disappeared, the blood sucked into the ground and the fire had but all ceased. The smoke dissipated in the air and on the ground Raksha could now see the three ladies that had originally been with her. One of them, the young brunette, was perched down by her side, her arms around her and eyes filled with a frightened concern.Â
“Raksha? Raksha are you alright?! We’ve been calling your name you wouldn’t respond a-and you started crying and s-screaming. W-what happened?”Â
Raksha looked at Minnie with a lost gaze in her eyes, she shifted her blurry vision over to the redheaded woman standing up now as she wiped the tear stains from her cheeks. Rahil was right, she did know.
“It is the snow covered path. That is the one we have to go through.”Â
“Are you sure?” Sally asked her eyes steady over the woman, eyes that knew what Raksha had currently gone through even if the other two had no idea.
“You said that my destination is where we all have to go next. My destination is my son. When he was young he loved the mountains of our home because of the pure white snow that covered the ground. It was his favorite pass time, to simply create snow angels in the piles of snow... That is the path we have to take.”Â
Sally simply nodded her head stepping aside as she did so. “Then lead the way, Raksha.”Â
Raksha took one last look back before taking a deep breath in and stepping forward towards the path of snow.Â

Fate Comes Knocking, Hades, Belle, and Urania.
Armed with the knowledge of the new Ambassador’s name, Urania heads to Belle and Hades’ to convince him to open the Gates. Belle doesn’t want to open the door, knowing Persephone’s warning. They listen to what Urania has to say. Hades reveals to Belle that he has been considering giving up his powers. Belle is shocked that he would ignore Persephone’s warning and go with Urania into the Underworld. (What she doesn’t know is that Urania--using her powers of epiphany--influenced Hades’ decision.) Eventually, Belle agrees to accompany him to the Gates, though she is not happy about it.
Neque Lumen, Urania and Belle.

Meeting Hades and Calliope at the mouth of the river, after having murdered Belle, Urania hands Hades the coerced letter. Heartbroken having thought Belle left him, Hades forges ahead. At the Gates, though, at the last moment, he changes his mind. This does not sit well with Urania, who snatches Calliope and uses her as a hostage to convince Hades to open the Gates. He does so and they descend into it, entering the City of Dis, where in a dark, empty cellar there is a jar: the Pithos of Pandora, better known as Pandora’s Box. Urania opens it, releasing darkness and destruction across Swynlake and crowning herself Queen of this new world...

They were not meeting in an office today. Today, Urania had arranged for them to meet at the edge of the treeline, where the river flowed firm and strong. She could feel the magic pulsing from it, as if it was alive, as if it had a heartbeat. Outside of Piperi, she had never felt magic so strongly. It hummed inside of her, made her feel strong, as she waited for Sally.
Today was the day--she would find out not only where the Gates were, but hopefully, if everything went correctly--who needed to open them. It was not the girl who had died. Urania could sense that. She did not need to find a brand new ambassador. No. Whoever they were, they were around. They were close. They had opened the Gates recently.
She paced slightly along the edge of the river as she waited for Sally to show up. Sally, the unexpected key to all of this. She knew she needed to temper her excitement. So, she breathed deep as she walked, calming herself, so that when Sally appeared over the ridge, with all that garishly red hair glinting in the sunlight (it was around noon, to give them plenty of time), she was the picture of perfect tranquility.
Urania smiled brightly at Sally.
“Sally, dear!” she greeted. “Are you ready to begin? I do hope this works. Your friend--what was their name? She deserves to be put to proper re--”
Before Urania could finish talking, a spray of water splashed against the riverbank, spraying both of them with a mist of water. Urania turned and blinked in surprise at the river but its current was calm and she had no idea where such a surge could’ve come from.Â
Urania was curious, more than anything, about this young woman who apparently had visions. According to Detective Flynn, anyways. She was always curious about people who possessed the Gift, as many called it, the Gift of Foresight, that is.Â
Though Foresight was an improper term, since Urania could see the present (where someone was in any particular moment) or the future, though that was far less frequent. Some people could only see the past (a useless power, Urania believed), some could only see the future. Some could only see particular instances: birth, death, birthdays, someone’s worst day, their best day, that kind of thing. The rarest gift was the gift of present-foresight.Â
She was eager to see which one it was that Sally possessed. She did not know much about her--couldn’t even do her star chart without her birthday, but she found the tarot reading she did on this meeting to be particularly interesting. The Tower and Death heavily featured.Â
The girl was just about right on time, which Urania appreciated. She’d called her a few days ago inquiring after an appointment. She said she’d heard about Sally’s affliction and that she had the same one (though she hated that word: affliction) and that she was eager to help Sally in anyway way she could.
When the knock sounded at her office door (located in the science building of the university), she called “come in!” and stood, gesturing broadly to welcome Sally into the room, which was neatly organized.Â
A large telescope stood behind her, facing out the big window. There were books lining the shelves of both sides of the office. In one corner were rolled up star charts in an umbrella stand that hand been re purposed. A tapestry hung on the ceiling that detailed the northern hemisphere, shrouding the room in a dark glow, despite the large window outside. In a corner there were two comfortable, plush, red leather chairs facing each other across a circular table, where her tarot deck lay. There was also a globe in the other corner, on a beautiful golden stand. Â
“Miss Finkelstein! Please, come in, make yourself comfortable.”Â
Silvermist Jeon and Sally Finklestein - Silly Aesthetic
Okay, of course, I have to do Silly. First of all, like, I remember reading their first thread and it was so cute like Sally being super interested in Silver’s language and they just--both really felt comfortable with each other right away. And, of course, I shipped it so hard I meddled IC (thanks, Simba.) I just think they’re so sweet together and they have, like, a really lovely relationship. I can’t wait to read more about Silver’s family stuff and Sally’s insecurities about her legs. As both of their good friend (as Simba, thanks, Simba) I’m heavily invested in this relationship. Oh, and also, we can never have enough girl-love, ya feel me?
