HOME WAS ALMOST A FOREIGN CONCEPT. it’d been over three years since she last called beacon hills her home. since then, it’d been connecticut, attending yale & loving every minute of it. since then, a lot had changed. almost too much. leaving stiles & the pack behind without so much as a note wasn’t the best move on her part, but she had no choice. she thought that the pregnancy was going to ruin her life & she wasn’t going to be responsible for ruining stiles’ as well. as time went on the guilt got stronger. every single time she looked at that little boy, she saw stiles. scarlett knew that sooner or later she’d have to come home & repent for what she did -- even if it meant tearing her ex apart. she’d gone through this scenario a million times in her head since the second she left down & practically ghosted everyone other than lydia. the reactions were usually the same & those reactions were what she was dreading the most.
she felt sick as she sat in her childhood home, taking in the updated living room that natalie had taken the liberty of updating since both of her kids were across the country. every nasty knot in her stomach was telling her to run. a part of her hoped that stiles hadn’t come home for the summer. that’d be easiest, right? wrong. she knew it was wrong the moment she heard that sarcastic voice coming through the door, causing her to panic the moment it all set in. he wasn’t supposed to be here -- not now, not yet. she wasn’t prepared for this unexpected visitor. although she knew the time was going to come sooner or later, she’d prefer the latter. eyes grow wide as her gaze shoots down to ryder, seeing him content on the ground next to prada. it was too late to move him into the next room. the sirens unhinges slightly as she spots stiles, a slight look of terror in her eyes while her entire body feels sea sick. ‘ hi. ’ she gulps, waiting for the catastrophe that was bound to follow. what else was there to say? hey, meet your two & a half year old son that i was hiding from you & other variations were far too abnormal to spit out. instead she sat there, her eyes steadily trained on the other as she watches her sisters face fall blank. @bcywithabat
