BCS x The Jinx: âFitting words from Jimmy McGill.â â Brian on Twitter
Q: Do you have any nightmare stories? A scene that was particularly tough and memorable to write?
Gennifer Hutchison: âYou know, itâs mostly in the breaks. When weâre putting an episode together on the board, thatâs the hardest part. On both these shows, we tend to break in such detail that once you get to script, usually you have a really good idea of where youâre going.
âAs far as being in the room, all the Tuco stuff was very tricky. We wanted Tuco to be not exactly where he was in Breaking Bad, and we needed to introduce this new character, Nacho, in an interesting way.
âAs far as writing, the salon scene in 'Hero,' when Kim and Jimmy are talking and she brings the cease and desist, was really interesting for me, because thereâs a couple different things going on in that scene.
âIt was a challenging scene, not in a bad way, but just making sure that you establish their rapport, you show that she doesnât like that she has to give this thing to him, but she also thinks that he needs to stop what heâs doing. Heâs kind of trying to let her know his feelings for her. Thereâs a lot of little things going on in that scene. That was definitely something I spent a lot of time on, but it ultimately ended up being a great scene.
âI just think Rhea and Bob did such an amazing job with it, and it was probably my favorite scene in the episode.â
