             THERE WAS A TIME WHEN JOEL would have hunted someone down to simply take whatever they had . those aren’t fond times to think of and there is no excuse what he’s done other than his grief taking over .  beyond that he’d merely follow someone he thought was out to get him and tess or someone that owed him payment .  now though , times are different . these days they patrol without much on their minds other than supplies and making sure infected don’t come too close to home . strangers passing through would have gotten shot at a past point in his life but as he stands before the other now , the former smuggler sizes him up . he’s still not immediately trusting but now he’s willing to give folks a chance .  ❝  what brings ya all the way out here  ??  don’t see too many strangers out this way these days  ,  unless they got some motives i ain’t gonna quite agree with  . ❞

  Quiet materialized a few feet behind him, a pistol she’d taken from a man she’d killed was trained right between his eyes. Her own were narrowed - cold, harsh, and unforgiving. Who is he? This was not V. What did he want? Why was he here? One wrong move, and she’d put him down.

There’s a stillness in the air. But something. Something always disturbed it.  A small movement here. Or something creaking there. She wasn’t here to play any games. Not this time. Her eyes swept around the area. “If you keep sneaking around like that you’re going to start giving me a headache. So please stop fucking around and come out.”
