nicole  frowns  at  herself  in  front  of  the  full - length  mirror . she  liked  hanging  out  andrew’s  girlfriend  ,  but  tonight  had  consisted  of  melody  unbraiding  her  hair  &  attacking  her  face  with  several  tickly  makeup  brushes .  loose  hair  &  contacts  were  definitely  a  new  look  for  her  ,  never  mind  red  lipstick  and  liquid  eyeliner .   it  wasn’t  that  she  didn’t  like  the  look  --  she  thought  it  was  pretty  in  magazines  &  online  --  but  on  her  it’s  just  ...  weird .  

❝  you  really  don’t  think  it’s  too  much  ?  ❞  nicole  asks . 

❝  you  look  like  a  princess ,  ❞  melody  insists  ,  gently  rearranging  nicole’s  hair  on  her  shoulders .  instead  of  her  usual  button - downs  &  skirts ,  melody  had  opted  for  a  cute  off - the - shoulder  sundress .   ❝  there .  ready  to  show  holliday  ?  ❞  she’d  barred  the  other  girl  from  entering  her  bedroom  for  the  last  half  hour ,  leaving  her  downstairs  in  the  living  room  with  cash  &  matt .
