Daniel, or Oz as he’d rather you call him, met Buffy and the Scooby Gang in high school. He immediately showed interest in Willow Rosenberg, beginning a relationship with her. After being bit by his pre-adolescent cousin Jordy, Oz discovered that he had become a werewolf. Initially trying to hide this side of himself, the wolf made itself known during his first cycle, when he tried to attack Willow, who had shown up at a very inopportune time. Despite this, Willow and the Scoobies supported him through his transformations, locking him in a cage on the appropriate nights and standing guard over him in shifts to insure he didn’t pose a threat to anyone when the wolf was unleashed.

After graduating high school, Oz attended UC Sunnydale with Willow and Buffy. Still in a relationship with Willow, Oz found himself drawn to Veruca, a female werewolf who believed the wolf was her true self. He spent a night in his cage with her, and the following sunset killed her to protect Willow from Veruca attacking her. Oz didn’t know who he was anymore, but knew the wolf would always be a part of him. He decided to leave Sunnydale, and leave Willow, in an attempt to find himself and a way to control the wolf within him.

He traveled the world and found ways to control his wolf through herbal therapy. Oz no longer transformed during the full moon cycle. He returned to Sunnydale in hopes of having a normal life with Willow, but discovered that Tara Maclay had replaced him in Willow’s affections. Upon this discovery, he transformed in the middle of the day and attempted to attack Tara. This experience led to his leaving Sunnydale once again. Since then, Oz has been traveling the world, searching for a better way to keep his wolf at bay. It was hard to not give into temptation and completely lose his human self, but he kept trying. While in Tibet studying, Oz came across the body of a Slayer who'd been studying there with her Watcher. After getting in contact with Buffy, he learned that the Slayer he'd found wasn't the only one succumbing under mysterious circumstances.He decided to face his fears of seeing Willow, knowing that the slayers was going to need all the help they could get.

Powers & Abilities:

Werewolf physiology grants him the potential to transform into a berserk, lupine creature with enhanced strength, speed, stamina and sense of smell. Unlike most werewolves, who change into animal form on the nights around the full moon, Oz has control over his form, no longer changing due to the phases of the moon.

Heightened sense of smell when in human form and the ability to identify others by scent.

Xander was born into a neglectful, sometimes abusive household. His father was a drunk and his mother was a fragile mess. The only solace he found was in his best childhood friend, Willow Rosenberg. The pair’s lives changed when they met Buffy Summers, who unbeknownst to them, was the chosen one, the slayer. Xander developed an immediate crush on Buffy, and Xander and Willow aided her in her vampire slayer escapades, dubbing themselves “The Scooby Gang.” Xander harbored much insecurity as a direct result of his upbringing. He questioned his usefulness to the group often, but ultimately found his place with them and began to overcome his self-doubt.

After graduation, Xander decided not to join follow his friends in their enrollment in UC Sunnydale and instead decided to take a road trip that was cut short when his car broke down. His feeling of isolation and his struggles with his inferiority complex grew once he returned to Sunnydale, the only one of his friends not in college. He moved into his parent’s basement and took odd jobs, finally finding his niche in construction and carpentry. The next few years showed improvement in Xander’s overall well being getting engaged to fellow Scooby Gang member and ex-vengeance demon Anya Jenkins, but leaving her at the altar out of fear of becoming like his father once they married. His insecurities and self-loathing returned in the aftermath of these events. When Willow’s girlfriend Tara Maclay was shot by Warren Mears, Willow became dark and attempted to destroy the world out of grief, but Xander stopped her with his love and friendship, helping her see reason. This finally helped him realize his true place in life and within the Scoobies.

When The First Evil attempted to wipe out the Slayer line, Xander was in the thick of the battle. During a fight with Caleb, the First’s minion, Xander lost his left eye. He fought alongside his friends and the hundreds of newly activated slayers as a result of a spell cast by Willow, in the battle at Sunnydale High, which resulted in the complete destruction of the town. With Sunnydale destroyed and the hellmouth beneath it closed, Xander followed Buffy and Rupert Giles, Buffy’s watcher, to England where Xander himself became a watcher, helping the slayers within the task force train for whatever came their way. Soon after this move, handfuls of Slayers began succumbing to mysterious circumstances and so Xander picked up his bags once again and travelled with Buffy to New York city to aid her in her fight against the supernatural.
