Didn't think I'd be able to visit #BBWManila2020 on my birthday week, so I'm glad that I did! Kulang na lang ay makahanap at makabili na rin ako ng sarili kong kopya ng Comic Book Tattoo: Tales Inspired by Tori Amos sa @bbwbooksph at maikukumpleto na ang "full flex" ng aking #BBWManila20Flex! 😂 On a more serious note, the last few months have given me a much-needed break from grad school, one I never thought I needed until I started seeing a therapist (and here my mental health journey began and continues, day by day). Now, I hope that with months of introspection, trying not to eat all the sadness and stress away, and with the books I bought from the sale, I would confront and somehow overcome the perils and varied bouts of procrastination, dread and financial instability that comes with writing the first draft of my thesis on comics as a full-time grad student. Who knows, perhaps I'd even write or make a comic about it? On the academic and long-neglected creative life. The only thing I'm certain of right now is that I can imagine Phasma somewhere in the galaxy, alone but very much alive, post-Episode VIII, and away from the chaos of Force-users and their quest/s for peace, power and "balance" since then (or so they say).
