Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Do we really have to love our country first above our own interest? Does
setting aside our differences makes us work together and what advantagesĀ
can we get from it? What does āBayan muna, bago ang sariliā mean for usĀ
Filipinos? These question myself upon reading the first few paragraphs in theĀ
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā In our generation today, I guess it has been more practical that we think
of ourselves first before our country. Thatās why we could see a lot ofĀ
wrongdoings particularly in the news that mustnāt be heard to the younger ones
especially in their generation.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā It is stated in the article that āK.K.Kā is the truest motto of our people.
Kami-kami, kayo-kayo or in short nag-kanya-kanya and worse, corruption and
incompetence had become more rampant involving more government officials
which is somehow not right.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I was sad a bit that we couldnāt apply in real life the āBayan muna, bago
and sariliā but it is present when it comes to good speeches, good posters andĀ
good for classroom expression.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā I got touched when Ninoy himself said, āWe must criticize in order to beĀ
free because we are free only when be criticized. I do agree that criticism is not
an end in itself. Criticisms, as communication approach, enlighten and bring
out the people together socially and politically.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā For me, I guess they got the right word which caught my attention āĀ
ātalkā with sense and pattern. I think that would be the best recommendationĀ
for now. Since we are from a democratic country, then ātalkā can be a greatĀ
service. As what it said that it is for intelligent debate. And we could possiblyĀ
gain unity among ourselves. Then with that, we can do things little by littleĀ
such as setting aside our differences.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The word āsurvivalā is really hard to deal with but getting through theĀ
recommendation, we ca really survive, as a nation and as a people. So, we,Ā
Filipinos, must work together because the task cannot be done without us forĀ
they canāt also do this all by themselves.
