Battle, Wyoming The town of Battle was founded atop this pass on the continental divide in 1898. It was a ghost town by 1905 due to the building of a tramway (that hauled ore) which bypassed the town. Go here for a bit more historical detail. I looked around for any historical buildings in Battle but had no luck—a resident told me none exist at this stage. As for my photograph: this memorial was alongside Wyoming Highway 70 atop the pass. Robert Bustos passed away in July of this year when the steering of the UTV (utility terrain vehicle) in which he was riding locked in place and a rollover occurred; the driver was injured. You can go to this page to read an obituary of the man who passed away.
