what's something that's a red flag in real life that you love in romance books? ❓
oh, come on, book lovers and bookish bats. you totally saw this one coming. MEN. and no, it's not because I'm sapphic leaning (I'm bi, actually 🤭); it's because men written by women are top tier. the men in our favorite romance books get us to swoon and sigh. they give us hope for an entire gender (I'm kidding! …mostly). the right romance book CAN give us hope, though. romance books make love seem possible, even in a world where happiness feels less and less tangible. 💜
a book boyfriend can step out of a romance book and offer comfort. love. and we adore them for it. here are a few of my favorite men from my top romance books of the year:
McHuge from The Ripple Effect - Maggie North
Rylie from Well, Actually - Mazey Eddings
Sam from For the Record - Emma Lord
Niko from Some Kind of Famous - Ava Wilder
Bran from Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl - Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone
Madden from Catch Her If You Can - Tessa Bailey
Nolan from Good Spirits - BK Borison
Beat from Wreck the Halls - Tessa Bailey
needless to say, my list of book GIRLfriends for the year is SO much longer. 🤭
