Did you guys know that if you do a search for images on Google for 'Batsluts', my picture will be included in the results? Lovely. ha ha But speaking of Batsluts, I had the most amazing weekend with my girls. I'm sure you saw the pictures of the debauchery, but in all sincerity, it was much more than boobs and booze (but not too much more). I am so lucky to have found these new friends with whom I share and have shared so much. Never, in my wildest imagination did I think that any kind of quality relationships would result from joining Twitter. Truth be told, I didn't even like Twitter when I joined and I let my account sit there for many months, completely inactive. How I came to find Lanie, I am not sure, but I know that she was one of the first real people that I followed that I genuinely liked. Then came Veronika. Then came Ruby. And then came Rachel. In real life, I doubt we would've ever given each other a second look if we passed in the street. Well, I probably would have given Ruby a second look - because she has a sweet ass, but that is besides the point. In just a few short months I have forged friendships that I never would have imagined. Ok. Enough sentimentalist bullshit... So, as it turns out, I actually know three people who have the swine flu. Don't worry, they aren't people I come in contact with generally. Go figure. The good news is that all of them report having a flu for about two weeks and recovering normally. So what's the big deal? The media swing on this thing is baffling. Initially, it was everywhere. You couldn't turn around without hearing about a new case of the sine flu. Now it seems that the majority of discussion takes place outside of the major media outlets. What gives? And why aren't people calling it the swine flu anymore? Did the meat industry really get their way and now the media are required to refer to the virus as H1N1? It really has me thinging. I reserve the right to recall this topic at a future date.

Thanks to everyone for being so patient and putting up with my Batslut weekend review in photos. I hope it was at least mildly entertaining for you. For those not in the know: The 'Batsluts' is a group comprised of some chicks that met on Twitter. We are me (@missanthropy15)from Ca, @lanieboe from Co, @zuzurachel from Ma, @veronikaG from Pa, @yaya_demio from Il and @rubymondays from Ny (who was unable to attend). We also respect the attendance and participation of miscellaneous significant others as well as @jaymjordan and @skipterrio. We are as alike as we are different, so the meeting was somewhat of an adventurement (adventure/experiment). We came to Vegas, we met and we rocked. The weekend exceeded my expectations as did all of the lovely ladies in attendance (and the few boys that came along for the ride). I was admittedly a little nervous as this kind of thing is generally the stuff of mommyblogger-dom, but I was dead wrong. I shared a four hour car ride wtih @veronikag to get there. It was awesome. We talked nonstop the entire way and there were no moments of awkwardness. I shared a room at The Four Seasons (A-FREAKING-MAZING) with the lovely @veronikag and @zuzurachel. We hit it off famously and it felt like we had known each other for ages and ages. I had the best time ever and was sad to have to leave on Sunday afternoon. Let me just say that it is now confirmed that I prefer the people who live in my phone to most of the people I know in real life. ;) And suck it to all of those who doubted that the weekend would be a success. You know who you are. Born out of the weekend festivities were the ideas for a few new websites (domains already obtained, thanks to @zuzurachel!!), at least two new blogs, a Batslut Manifesto and a book or two. I would love to share the ideas, but they are just embryonic at this stage and are also highly proprietary. You will know them when you see them. If my hands weren't already full, they are now. I'm very excited for what these new adventures may bring. Look out world, the Batsluts are coming!

Lately, I much prefer talking to people in the virtual world over talking to people in the real world. Especially if I can do it in 140 characters or less (I'm looking at you Twitter). The virtual world is much more user friendly. You can participate when you want to, on your own terms. You can turn it off whenever you want to. It's hard to turn off a real person. Trust me. I've tried. And it's much easier to pretend that the entire fucking world isn't a giant cock sucking selfish asshole. (Sorry Mom.) Additionally, it expands the pool of people from which you can select the non-assholes that you actually want to consort with. I live in Riverside, California. My options are limited. Granted, there are a few cool people here (literally a few - there's about 3), but for the most part the people are noncool. So, thanks Batsluts.... You know who you are and I love you. I'll see you bitches in Vegas.
