small RP sketch!! been experimenting with the idea that in a separate RP universe, Khalan is able to fully tap into his bakeneko side and shapeshift into a cat due to some magical shenanigans. Melvin (@baskervilleshound's OC) is the one who encourages Khalan to fully embrace that side of himself, which is super precious imo ;A; <3

anyway! ended up drawing this because 1) the size difference is adorable!!! Khalan is SO tiny in comparison to Mel I can't handle it;; and 2) my heart needed art of these two interacting because it's been soooo long since I last drew some RP art :'0

I've been thinking about the Ravenwood RP and Melvin and Khalan's precious father/son dynamic again recently, so I felt like sketching a really rough height difference thing just because it was on the brain! ;o; the fact that Khalan is soooo much smaller than Mel gets my heart, man. I love them 😭💕

a silly little thing based on some RP discussions between @baskervilleshound and myself xD

we were talking about a scene in RP where the wind was really strong, and I joked that Khalan would simply just... blow away if he went outside. but then Mar said "it's okay, Mel would just catch him in his baseball mitt and say he's Too Baby to be outside" and the absurdity of that concept made me laugh so I had to draw it, haha!

practicing with emotions and body language again. really wanted to see if I could convey a feeling of anxiety, embarrassment, and pain all in one sequence.

my poor son always struggles to tell people if he's not feeling well and needs help - especially if that person is Melvin (@baskervilleshound's OC). I guess when your dad told you for most of your life that you're a selfish burden for asking such a thing, it's really hard to break out of that mindset even with a father figure who actually cares. ;n; so proud of Khalan for pushing through that fear and admitting that he's not okay so Mel can help him out, though 😭

felt good to draw this kind of RP art again, tbh. it's been a while since I've attempted some kind of expression sequence like this. I really missed it :'0

NEW RAVENWOOD LORE!! :D

so basically there's a point in the RP where Khalan gets seriously wounded and almost dies (not surprising lol), and Melvin in the last minute decides to give his blood in order to keep Khalan alive :'0 but obviously, Mel is Monster Man so his blood is Magic™ and it ends up having a lot of strange effects on Khalan over time.

one of the more positive things to come about as a result of this is that Khalan ends up getting!!! the cute little star freckles that Mel also has!!! :'D so he gets to match with his new father figure and that just gets my heart SO good;;

so yeah! I had to try drawing this concept, plus a mini "comic" of sorts where Mel notices the freckles for the first time, because the idea was just too precious to pass up :'0

yet another Ravenwood RP sketch. this time of DAD MEL because I love him so much and I felt compelled to draw the good monster man again ;A;

of course this is kind of the aftermath of the one story arc that I've briefly mentioned a few times already (here and here, specifically). felt like touching on the soft recovery side of things with this one though. quiet scenes like this are something I always really love writing about, and heaven knows these characters need a moment of healing and peace after everything that happened;;
