'The Taste of Andre,' or the Piedmontese Italian hamburger, combines the rich flavors of Piedmontese beef with an Italian twist. This burger is delicious. It has meat that is juicy, melted mozzarella, prosciutto, and basil pesto.
Ingredients: 1 lb Piedmontese beef. 1/4 cup finely chopped onions. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup milk. 1 egg. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/4 tsp black pepper. 4 burger buns. 4 slices mozzarella cheese. 4 lettuce leaves. 4 tomato slices. 4 slices prosciutto. 4 tbsp basil pesto.
Instructions: In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix the Piedmontese beef, chopped onions, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, and black pepper. Add the breadcrumb mixture to the beef mixture and combine well. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Preheat your grill or stovetop pan over medium-high heat. Grill the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each patty to melt. Toast the burger buns on the grill until they are lightly browned. Spread basil pesto on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the pesto, followed by a burger patty with melted mozzarella. Add a slice of prosciutto on top of the patty, then a tomato slice. Close the burger with the top half of the bun. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Piedmontese Italian hamburger!
