Basil isnāt entirely sure what heās expecting when he sees Aubrey passing by the bench that heās sitting on in the park. Things were supposed to be better right now, right? He should at least try to say hello to her. But a creeping sense of dread comes into the back of his mind. That things will just go back to the normal of these past four years, and that making himself as small as possible would probably be the best course of action here. If she didnāt notice, it would probably be okay...
But then he remembers what he should probably be doing. Mending things, making life better for himself, and hopefully for other people. It was the least that he could do in the moment. If it didnāt work well... He probably deserved it, it was probably for the right reasons this time, so he shouldnāt really be fighting it. So here went nothing, or maybe everything.
āHey, Aubrey!ā he calls out, still not moving from the spot. Heās not sure what to expect, but at the very least heās come to terms with some parts of it before this began, so he wouldnāt have to just sit with it.
