Maintaining your manicures requires some effort and a bit of time on your part. A manicure is like a beautiful facial that is done to make the wearer feel attractive and at the same time look great. The main aim of manicure is to keep your nails looking healthy and shiny and the best way to do that is by keeping them clean and moisturized.

There are two types of manicures: basic and advanced. Basic manicures usually last up to a week but they have to be done regularly and they have to be done well. Basic manicure needs to be perfectly applied, not only on the nails but also on the face to create a shiny finish.

The second type is Shellac Manicure. This style is usually done in a week or two. For a Shellac manicure, the manicurist first makes an impression of your nails with a shellac nail polish. The nail polish then gets applied on the nail to create a smooth finish. To get a better finish, you can use an Emery board to apply the final finish.

You can also use gel manicure which looks more natural. This way of manicure involves painting the nails with an acrylic paint that looks real. Gel polish does not have the same shine as it seems to be.

Another type of gel manicure is the French Manicure. The manicurist makes a small oval in the middle of the palm and then applies two coats of gel polish on top of the oval. They can also apply more coats to get the desired effect. As the nail polish dries, the manicurist will paint the side of the nail with a darker color that mimics the color of the gel and finally polish the whole nail.

If you want to have a basic manicure, it is better to go to a salon or spa where you can get a manicure that you would feel comfortable with. and enjoy the results. These types of manicures are generally done for a one-off fee and you can also get them done on a regular basis.

So the weather is getting better, or so ours says. Tonight (Monday  27 April )  I noticed my nails were pretty grundgey, uneven and frankly I can not remember the last time I gave myself what I call a base manicure.
