It had been the longest night, followed closely by the longest morning, and all Iris wanted was a moment of quiet and peace with her husband. Every time she closed her eyes, images of that terrible nightmare returned to her, and she was having a hard time trying to catch her breath. It was terrifying -- Losing Barry had always been her biggest fear, and now that she had experienced it, it was hard to go back to the way life was before. Once she had almost lost him to the lighting, so many months submerged in a coma and no hope of him ever coming back. Then he had left for months, only to return to them so out of it. They had gone through enough already, and she couldn’t help but think if there would ever be a day they get to spend without a single worry.
The doctor had told her that everything was fine and confirmed the pregnancy once again, not that she needed it. It was too soon for their technology to know she was carrying twins, but who needed that when you had an actual goddess listening to the heartbeats. Now it was about time Barry knew as well. She dropped the heels she had been carrying in hand and made it to the couch, resting her head on the back. She could sleep for days, only that she didn't want to. "I wish dad were here." Her dad would know what to do and the right thing to say to make it all better.
