DJ Mary adjusts her glasses, nonplussed.  Her cheeks burn hot and there’s a 75% chance they’ll fog up before too long.  The boy’s hopping from one foot to another, ready and eager to adopt his new Pokemon.  Mary hesitantly motions him inside, to where he rushes in, sees the small dragon, and instantly grabs him in his arms.  Barry’s carefree like that.

But the Deino isn’t.  He chomps delightfully down on the boy’s arm, gurgling deep in his mouth.  “Oh no!” she exclaims.  Mary can already see the white sheen of drool dripping down Barry’s arm.  "Ah, um, I’m so sorry!  He’s, um, he really likes to bite!  But he doesn’t have teeth right now...” Mary said, trying to take the dragon from the boy’s arms, but failing miserable.  “The Professor doesn’t know when they’ll grow back... dragons are mysterious creatures.”

She eyed the boy and his new Pokemon.  The dragon was full of energy, matched only by Barry.  She vaguely wondered if this was a good idea, but seeing the boy’s smile set that thought to rest.  Mary smiled.  “Take good care of Deino, okay?  He’s quite rowdy, and doesn’t like to listen.”

DJ Mary finally took down the last of the Halloween decorations.  Which was fine with her, because she’d had her fun for the next two years.  Between costume gore, horror films, and Ben jump-scaring her numerous times, Mary was all frightened out.  She didn’t want to know how many times she’d screamed.

With everything back in its place, there was only one thing left to do: announce the winners of this season’s event.  Grinning, Mary sat back at her desk, looking at the finished paperwork in front of her.  Meowzie jumped into her lap, purring.

“Let’s do it, Meowzie!” Mary giggled, stroking her Pokemon’s sleek fur.  “Happy Meowth-oween!”
