Fic idea:
AU - Barry and Felicity meet in a big city and work either at the same place or at nearby places. The big thing that drives them apart eventually would be doubts that they actually like/love each other or if they're just settling b/c they think they're only together b/c they have similar interests, etc. And so they inevitably break-up, but then have realizations later where it's more than that and that having common interests and personalities can be a good thing and it may be part of the reason they fell in love but it's not the reason they stayed in love and they shouldn't let tropes or stereotypes drive them apart. And then Barry could do something super cheesy like ask her to marry him in a really stereotypical way just to mock what drove them apart and say they're not going to let it do that anymore.
Will Oliver exist in this AU? Or have you not thought that far yet? I’m not into barricity, but I would check it out! I have only ever shipped Barry and Iris with each other, but I do love Barry/Kara and Iris/Lena lol. Also, who is Tati?
I haven’t figured out the other characters yet, but I would prob take Oliver and Iris out of the mix just so I don’t have the two big ships in the vicinity of each other and yet still not happening. I personally dislike the idea of barricity as a ship in canon b/c I love their friendship so much and am displeased at the fact they almost started dating b/c of events in Arrow. lol. That being said AUs are like a blank slate for me. I can write almost any pairing in an AU if I’m really inspired for whatever reason. I just have to be able to do it my way.

Ha. I have so many westallen fics going rn, I rly think it’d have to be strictly barricity. And honestly I have the main outline planned in my head. The song Tati recc’d to me (Holy Ground by Taylor Swift) just gave me an insane amount of ideas for a Barricity AU where they defy the odds by getting back together after they broke up b/c they thought they might only be together b/c they’re so similar when in reality it goes beyond all that. (so like the opposite of what the show did basically) I can never dabble in different Barry or Iris ships unless it’s totally AU, if I want that ship to be a genuine soulmate endgame. So, yeah, I might tackle that.
I wonder...are there other barricity stans in the audience who would also read? Lol.
