I’ve been in love with the idea of visiting the Greek Island of Ikaria for years, after reading an article about how the people there live longer than in other areas of the world due to their culture and environment. It looks like such a beautiful place. However, I wondered if, like so many other places outside the US, this tiny island had an animal welfare problem. It seems that many of the beautiful, insulated cultures of the world are also medieval in their view of animal welfare (not to say the USA is perfect). Sure enough, I stumbled across this horrifying article. Now I’m not sure I could visit this Greek island without getting arrested for trying to release & save all these poor abused animals. How can people be this ignorant in the 21st century? I post this to bring awareness to global animal abuse. Please repost. Many thanks!
