A brief moment of sun at Lowther Castle to (partly) dispel the gloom and warm the stone. Was very taken with this radial floor design under the porte-cochère in front of the weatherbeaten double doors (you shall not pass, unless you pay the nine quid entry fee). Would dearly have loved to explore more, including the interior, but time was limited.
